@pcambra I am hooked on pooing. I do it every day!
"But these various funding initiatives have little to do with pure altruism. The companies ponying up the capital typically identify the open source software they rely on most, and then allocate funds accordingly — it’s ultimately about protecting their own business (...)"
Seen in @TechCrunch that VC are going to fund open source developers (3 no less 🤪, invite only) https://techcrunch.com/2024/02/15/sequoia-open-source-fellowship-developer-funding/
@pcambra I have a Drupal dot org account but not a linked GitHub account. I like one of the suggestions posted about using a string for verification the same way Mastodon does verification.
After the wave of spam thorough Mastodon, we had to limit the registration to a manual/pre-authorised system and there was a bit of discussion on whether we should require/validate through a #drupal dot org account, I've opened a GitHub issue on the repo to gather feedback, so if you have an opinion or thoughts on how to implement this, please chime in :) https://github.com/Drupal-Mastodon/mastodon/issues/6
@pcambra maybe require people in the instance to have a Drupal.org account?
Wondering if we should restrict registration temporarily with this spam rage mastodon is suffering, thoughts?
@relay we will moderate whoever is reported and keep an eye to new accounts
In out case this new policy implies paying 8x times what we are paying now. I am not against paying, but I would have preferred a much more gradual increase.
Also, implying those who don't pay are not Makers is not fair for many people and companies.
@jurgenhaas, I don't know in USA, but in South Europe you don't earn 1500€ in 1-2 days, and if we talk about benefit after taxes you need much more days. I think financial culture is much different here than in USA.
