@pcambra it's disappointing how Drupal has turned its back on independent developers since Dries got all that investment money for Acquia. i’ve used the platform since D3 or D4 and i’ve seen how that impacted the .org and the community. the continuous growth model decimated the community it used to have.
@joachim it's 3 days seems, https://events.drupal.org/barcelona2024/program-glance
@joachim I do not know exact numbers but it is a 2 day event now so we're probably in 60% or less.
It seems the Sidekiq container lags after a few days running, we've found that GitLab and Discourse use the same software as Mastodon and some users have identified the issue as well:
AND
A baby first step to be able to add custom PostgreSQL config is this issue: https://github.com/Drupal-Mastodon/mastodon/issues/4
Help is greatly appreciated!
We're currently having issues with the #Drupal community instance, as reported by some users, the ingress and pull processes have been lagging during the weekend.
We've restarted the services and it is slowly coming back to normal but we have this issue too often now to ignore it.
We believe after looking to it for a bit with the help of NITEMAN (https://www.drupal.org/u/niteman) that the bottleneck could be PostgreSQL, for the time being we've increased the memory but I think we will need more actions
So attendance is quite restricted to those:
- Company sponsored. Almost exclusively the same big companies we're all thinking about.
- Your session got selected (they're selecting WAY less sessions this year for DrupalCon, matching the expectation of less attendees).
How does this help the #Drupal mission?
Btw, once again for the ones in the back: Student tickets are 485€. The annual academic fee for public universities in Spain is around 1000€.
Well, DrupalCon Barcelona tickets are out and as expected they're quite disappointing pricing-wise:
- Tickets range from 775€ in early bird - without knowing the program - to onsite, 1330€.
- Minimum wage in Spain for 2024 is 1134€, to put in perspective how unreasonable the pricing is for locals.
- Student ticket is 485€ in Europe, it was 50€ for DrupalCon Portland.
I really dislike how DrupalCon has became an elitist #Drupal event.
yeah... me as well... Such an increase in ticket price. To return to a city that already has a major problem with too many tourists, in the middle of a major festival...
Drupal events in smaller places are just so much nicer.
@ekes :( quite a few people I've chatted with are going to miss it
@pcambra I don't have anything too exotic in the house now, mostly Franks and other stuff available at grocery stores. But my main recommendations for hot sauce are always Grace Hot Pepper Sauce for everyday use, and pretty much all Mexican sauces for other stuff. Anything from El Yucateco, but also Tapatio and Valentina.
Estamos contratando a una persona para cubrir el puesto de frontend developer con conocimientos #Drupal en un puesto 100% remoto (requerimiento de residencia en España) https://jobs.polymer.co/cambrico/30418
@pcambra those are called "polite pimms", and not usually taken after breakfast.
@sarah do you mean for storage? s3 or alike, wasabi for example
@ultimike Port-burg doesn't have quite the same ring to it :)
@ultimike @chrisfromredfin well, I'll be happy if I don't have to revert one more feature like ever :D
@ultimike I don't think I necessarily want to upgrade my D7 skills
Many thanks to the 135 individuals that have helped me gather data for my research!! https://drupal.community/@pcambra/112202741900219040
